Transatlantic Green Platform
June 5, 2008

About

Only a comprehensive approach encompassing public policy, financing of R&D and innovation, and market adoption from major large corporations will lead to a green revolution. The Transatlantic Green Platform is committed to foster such an approach by generating concrete business deals, investments, partnerships and specific policy proposals between around 200 key European and US Green Tech players.

The first Transatlantic Green Platform: for connecting US and European key players provided a unique opportunity to explore some of the new mega trends in Green Tech and to create a high-level forum of innovative companies, experts, investors and policy makers.

The morning session, presenting 20 selected green tech start-ups from Europe and the US to an audience of experts, investors, potential partners, and the Transatlantic Green Tech Awards Jury, provided an exciting outlook to companies engaged in the green revolution thanks to their technology breakthroughs in biofuels, solar, wind, energy management and storage, automotive & transportation and other clean technologies.

The afternoon’s overview of green mega trends by Ernst and Young and the three parallel conferences on “ Bringing Green to Market”, “Public Policy, a driver for Green” and “Financing R&D and new business in Green” featured issues of major importance to meet the objective of the Lisbon Agenda in terms of interaction between economic growth, the environment and jobs, and to enhance the transatlantic cooperation.

The interest and enthusiasm of the speakers, presenting companies and the audience confirm the potential and wish to develop this initiative further.
